Gali Katide is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in psychotherapy and psychological assessments for Individuals, children, couples, groups and families.
Individual therapy
This is a process where clients work one on one with the psychologist in a safe, validating, and confidential environment. In individual therapy, I will aim to collaboratively increase understanding of a client’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviour patterns with the aim of self-awareness, adaptive stress management, and overcoming interpersonal challenges.
Child therapy
Child therapy is offered to children who are going through a difficult time in their lives. This could include adjustment issues stemming from a divorce, bullying, anxiety, loss and depression.
In child therapy, I aim to provide a safe and supportive space for children to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and help them to develop healthy coping mechanisms and build resilience.
Couples therapy
Couples therapy aims to improve communication between couples. It helps to explore the root causes of conflict between two people. In couple’s therapy, the aim will be to enhance a couple’s understanding of each individual’s own needs and the needs of their partner. Couples therapy helps the couple to build mutual respect, and consideration of each other’s feelings and enhance trust in the relationship.
Family therapy
Family is one of the most important, intimate relationships that you can find. Family Therapy includes all members of a family and explores and improves the interactional dynamics of the family. Family therapy looks at challenges in a family as patterns that need to be adjusted and does not focus on one person as a sole contributor to the challenge. Family therapy helps to improve communication, solve family problems, and create a harmonious and better-functioning home environment.
Group therapy
Group therapy is when several people undergo therapy at the same time and the focus is on interaction within a group, interactional dynamics and how the improvement of the interaction can benefit the whole group. Support groups aim to reduce distress and give an individual a safe, shared space to talk openly about their feelings.
Assessments & Seminars
Psychological Assessments
Psychological assessments are done to comprehensively understand an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, and to evaluate an individual’s mental, behavioural, and emotional reactivity. Psychological assessments also identify cognitive and emotional reactivity challenges and make recommendations for remediation.
The duration of assessment and fees depend on the needs of the client.
Types of assessment done:
-
- Psycho-diagnostic assessment
Mental health awareness seminars
Psychoeducation is done to raise awareness about Mental Health topics. The sharing of information also helps to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and to help people to better understand mental health conditions.
Psychoeducation also gives tools to cope with mental health challenges on an everyday basis and to promote emotional well-being practices.
